The kitchen is the focal point of this custom built home in a private setting. The original kitchen was very dark and dated so the client requested a light, bright and clean space. We replaced the dated skylights and didn’t install a backsplash to keep it super simple. Small appliances are hidden behind a lighted garage door cabinet that keeps the countertops free from clutter. Large tiles were used on floor due to the scale and unusual shape of the room, and the back of the island offers the client ample storage to minimize the need for so many wall cabinets. The huge, boomerang shaped island is also perfect for entertaining and hosting their large family at holidays.
